About The Pine Barons Chorus

The Pine Barons Chorus is a membership organization of singers who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have over 40 singers, ages 17 to 80+, representing all walks of life, from Cherry Hill and surrounding areas. We are working men, retirees, students, family men, marrieds and singles - who all have in common the love of singing close harmony and the fellowship of like-minded men.

Performance

Our goal is to get out and perform for and be a part of our community. We sing at annual shows, community events, and at annual competitions. We also perform Singing Telegrams around Valentine's Day.  We are available to sing at your next event or special occassion. In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus experience. A couple of times a year, we are coached by various visiting masters in the art of harmony singing and performance techniques, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade. 

Competition

In the spring of every year, The Pine Barons Chorus participates in our Division of the Mid-Atlantic District chorus competition. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The regional qualifiers in both quartet and chorus categories go on to the District level of competition in the fall. Qualifiers from each District then participate in the International Competition in the summertime. Most choruses have a number of members who form their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. The Pine Barons Chorus currently is home to a number of wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them!  See our Quartets Section to learn more about them.

Affiliation

The Pine Barons Chorus is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a non-profit organization of approximately 28,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters is in Nashville, TN.
