The Pine Barons Chorus is a welcoming group of men who come together to sing, perform, socialize, and have fun.

With more than 40 singers ranging in age from 17 to 80+, our members come from all walks of life throughout southern New Jersey and the surrounding area. We are working men, retirees, students, husbands, fathers, and singles—all united by a love of great music, close a cappella harmony, and the friendship and fellowship that come from singing together.

Whether performing for an audience, rehearsing together, or simply enjoying each other’s company, we share one thing in common: we love to sing!

Performance

Our goal is to get out into the community, share our music, and be part of the events that bring people together. We perform in our annual shows, at community events, and in a cappella competitions. Around Valentine’s Day, our quartets also spread a little romance and fun with our popular Singing Valentines.

In addition to sharing our music with others, we’re passionate about continually improving our craft. Vocal instruction and music education are regular parts of our rehearsals and an important part of the Pine Barons experience. Throughout the year, we also bring in accomplished coaches and clinicians who work with us on vocal technique, a cappella harmony, performance skills, and stage presence.

There’s always something new to learn—and becoming better singers makes performing together even more rewarding.

Competition

Each spring, the Pine Barons Chorus participates in the Mid-Atlantic District’s Division chorus competition. Competition weekends are a great opportunity for choruses and quartets from throughout our region to come together, share their music, enjoy the fellowship of fellow singers, and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experienced judges.

Qualifying choruses and quartets advance to higher levels of competition, with the very best eventually earning the opportunity to perform on the international stage. For information about upcoming conventions and competitions, visit the Barbershop Harmony Society website.

Quartet singing is also an important part of the Pine Barons experience. Many of our members form quartets in addition to singing with the full chorus, giving them another opportunity to enjoy the challenge—and fun—of four-part a cappella harmony.

The Pine Barons Chorus is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a non-profit organization of approximately 28,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters is in Nashville, TN.
